The David Hesser II Scholarship was established in October 2022, by his wife Stephanie and colleagues with Advantage Plumbing Heating and Cooling, Dale Sorrell and Macy Devereaux, in honor of David.
Davids Bio:
David was a graduate of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program at Meridian Technology Center in 1984. He went on to acquire both his mechanical (HVAC) and plumbing licenses. In January 2005, he started working for then Western Mechanical (now Advantage Heating and Cooling). He already had a “list” of customers that he brought with him when he started at Western Mechanical. What David will always be remembered for is not only his passion he had for the industry itself, but the strong work ethic and customer service piece he believed and demonstrated with every colleague and customer he interacted with. He was considered a true mentor for new and younger employees. Many conversations about “life” occurred when riding with David in his work truck. Customers consistently asked for him by name and were willing to wait for service until he was available. This scholarship was established to support students training for this industry, as well as continue that legacy of supporting colleagues, that David so believed in doing.
Scholarship Details:
Recipients of this scholarship are enrolled in the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration program. Selection of recipients will be based on the need for financial assistance, as well as his or her ability to successfully complete the program and gainfully enter the workforce. Funds from this account are to be used for tuition, books, supplies, dues, equipment and program certificate fees for student’s chosen field of study in this program. If tuition is paid in full or guaranteed by another source, funds may be awarded to the student for other expenses that occur while enrolled at Meridian Technology Center.
